I spent a few hours at RAF Hendon at the weekend photographing amongst other things, the Bedford OX ... ... which is attached to a Queen Mary Trailer. However, have a look at the towing attachment, it's not a normal 5th wheel, nor does it look like a Scammell coupling ... ... the Queen Mary trailer at Elvington has a similar hitch.

That is the one I photographed and it is a totally different than any other make of coupling. I took more pics but am going to get permission to take real details at some time soon I hope. what day were you there Nick I was next door on Saturday. Ted

I was there on Sunday afternoon Ted, I had permission to photograph the Scammell Scarab. The people there are fantastic, really helpful.

Ted, here's a couple of photographs of a similar coupling I took at Elvington earlier this year ... ... strange isn't it? yes I have those pics Nick you sent them earlier, it is a Taskers coupling and note, the whole turning bit is on the trailer the bottom plate just slides into a slot on the unit itself I have some close up pics from Hendon already. too busy to do anything on it yet. if your pal is doing the mil front don't forget the head lamps as they are imposs to find in the spares box and my box is big. Ted

I hope to be able to sit down with Brian in the near future and discuss just what will be included with the kit. Full details here soon.
