Does anyone belong to the World Helicopter SIG and if so is it active? I've asked Geoff Arnold the SIG leader to contact me but hey Geoff email works outside the UK in fact all over the world but you have to answer!
Colin Burgess, count me as dissapointed.

Hi Colin and Phillip
I saw Geoff briefly at SMW - he was one of the early volunteers. I'll drop him a line and follow up with a letter if needs be.
cheers

We're still not getting any regular communication, won't someone plug the comms line back it!

Hi Philip. Apologies for the late reply, I haven't visited the site for a while. I still haven't had any comms from the SIG Leader. This despite numerous emails to him and an offer to help with a newsletter. Frankly I think he want's the badge but without the hassle. it's strange as the SIG always manages to fill atwo tables at SMW so ther emust be a few die hard SIG members!

Hi Colin
I suspect this may be one to resolve at Telford..? I am even able to provide hearing aid batteries, such is my range of abilities. Now, I do seem to recall you had made some vague plans to be there too...? ;-)
We can go visit the World Helos Display together! It's usually rather jolly good. Don't ask me which Hall to find it in, mind - I'm only the chap who puts the labels on the tables... Helicopter Geoff is a nice bloke, perhaps we may find him among the multitude...
cheers

Almost nonexisitant comms, not newsletter etc....

Wel SMW has come and gone, I visited the Helo SIG dispaly and a fine one it was too. So the SIG is alive and well, it's just deaf and dumb! Apparently they are just a 'displaying SIG', whatever that may encompass. Not much point in having a SIG if there is no communication between it's memebrs. Maybe it's a masonic type SIG where you have to hold the collective a certain way? I shan't be bothering the SIG leader any more.
So Geoff, mark me down as extreamnly dissapointed.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, been keen of Helicopters for a long time but when I went to see them at Telford they didn't seem to want to know so that was that....

Sounds like a closed shop to me but then I've never belonged to a union!!! I think the SIG should be handed to someone who wants to run it as a SIG and not a club for a few mates. What's with this, 'we're just a show SIG?'
