A couple of years ago I started to convert the Revell 1/24 Bussing 3000 S13 into a well used and abused German water tanker for the 'Werk Feuerwehr' or works Fire Brigade, the build got sort of sidelined for various reasons but it's now back on the bench. Here's how it was when I left it ... ... as you can see I experimented by using the water tank from the Italeri Opel Blitz fire truck and then I joined two tanks together ... ... and that's how it stayed until I put it on the bench at the weekend. In order to give the build a little a little order I've decided to split the build into several chunks, the first being the chassis. This vehicle would have been built in the late 50's or 60's and if it was still running it would have its fair share of knocks and bumps and the whole vehicle would be very tired looking. So, first up was the damage to the wheel arches and I do have a photograph of a vehicle in this condition and it's still working ... nearside front ... nearside rear ... offside front ... offside rear ...

It`s looking great Nick. The weathering is spot-on and is something I`ve been meaning to attempt for years - but never have. I`ve only ever built one of these Bussings but remember enjoying it.

Thanks Jim, but weathering isn't a dark art. Decide what you want to achieve and work out a way to do it, there are so many weathering products available to assist you
