I have noticed at some shows I have attended that occasionally some tables have been left unused where a club has simply not turned up, and worse still, found out that they have not had the courtesy to let the club running the show know beforehand. Maybe on the day some clubs just really could not be bothered to turn up, but need to bear in mind the consequences of their actions. Unfortunately this has a multiple effect as the table hire has to be paid for regardless of whether used or not by the show organiser. The show as a consequence loses part of its display or a specialist trader, as it also denies the opportunity for either to participate in the show at short notice. Anybody running a show has to trust that all invited clubs will turn up as their allocated tables are free to use by the clubs whereas traders pay up front for theirs. Not surprisingly, as a result some clubs are now getting automatically blacklisted by some show committees.
