Do I need to thin Xtracolour matt varnish?
I sprayed 3 models last night using my Badger 200 using a Revel Gamma compresor at about 15psi and it was quite a slow job. When I just put thinners through the brush, a lot comes out at the same needle setting. This leads me to think I should be thinning the varnish. A bit of advice would be appreciated! Thanks

You definitely should be thinning any paint that is designed to be painted by brush. Although I use acrylics, the principle is the same. A lot has been said about consistency before. Read some previous threads for more info.

The large, 75ml, bottle, ref. XDFF, is allegedly, ready-thinned for spraying, but I've always sprayed it at 20-25psi. The 14ml tinlet needs thinning, exactly like any other. Hannant's supply "Quick Dry Thinners," XDTT, but that always used to be best quality white spirit. As a "belt & braces" modeller, I've always found that it pays to add a couple of drops of Rustin's Driers (Terebene) to Xtracolor tinlets, since, occasionally, they remain tacky, for months. Patience
