My wife picked up four of these milk frothers from the pound shop ( a quid each that is, not 4 for a pound!) and gave me a couple. A 10 second modification to cut off the circular spirally frothing head and leave an L shaped hook at the end - stick in an AA battery and bingo - one paint stirrer.
However, due to the quite high spin speed and a bit of a splattery accident (don't tell SWMBO for gawd sake - she hasn't noticed the odd marks on the wallpaper yet!!!) I decided to use a couple of spare Humbrol tinlet lids, drill a 2mm hole to put the stirrer through and hey presto - no splatter and just wipe off the lid after use. I also tried it to stir some settled, gloopy Mattcote with equal success.
Normally in the picture above you would expect to see me holding the tin steady but obviously I had to use that hand to hold the camera with!
Now, has anyone got the BBC number for The Dragon's Den...

Bit of a late spring clean, but there I was sorting through the drawers in the kitchen, and I came across this little item ...
... the 'Whisk-o-lait'. So, being sort of sneaky, I ambled over to Mrs Gromit and asked a sort of (I'm only a bloke, what would I know?) type of question ... "what's this for then?". Apparently, when cold drinks and milk shakes were all the rage for the girlie's in the house, it was used ... erm ... once. So, quick as a flash, I outlined my idea for a conversion based on Alan's suggestion, and it was mine. So, I now have the Deluxe Chrome version of the paint stirrer, complete with stand. As you can see it's been modified and is now no use whatsoever in the kitchen ... ya gotta be quick!
Oh, the models on the bench, the Ford Model T' for 'Snodgrass and Pettigrew' as the 'Wacky Racers' entry for the Adventure Gazette, and a little diversion, a 1/32 Nieuport.
