I am having problems with paint peeling off when remove removing the tape. I am using xtracrylix paints(mostly),priming with alcad grey primer and rubbing down with a tag rag. before I start any painting , the model is given a rub over with 1200 wet& dry. any ideas where I,m going wrong? I have bought some latex gloves(no sniggering at the back please) but not used them yet- might be greasy paw prints to blame, althougth they are not obvious before I start painting hope someone can help, as this is becoming a real problem Thanks

Many people will give you many answers for this problem.
However the two most likely candidates are:
Gease on the model:
Wash the model in Soapy water and rinse well BEFORE Primer
and too strong a tack on the masking tape:
A good remedy for this is to apply the tape to your forehead (I said HEAD!) before applying it to the model! The grease will reduce the tack sufficiently to stop the tape pulling the paint off.
Hope this helps.
