A quick query. In your opinion, which is the best 1;72 kit for a Mark 5? Fujimi? And, off hand (before I trawl a few more websites!) is there a decal sheet out there covering a FAA SAR version (721 Sqdn?) Thanks Simon
I would guess the new(ish) Revell kit is the best bet. I've been told it's head and shoulders above the competition but the kit could be hard to find. Not sure if the Revell german version has all the spare bits in it to do the RN Sea King
I recently built the USN Fujimi Sea King, It needs a dose of 'proper modelling' to build it but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's about on a par with the Airfix kit, which I think is being re-released this year as a Mk6
Thanks for the steer. The only snag now is getting hold of one! Ideally I would like to get my mits on the Revell HAS 5/6/AEW but, as you suggest, may be a Mk41 would be a starting point but getting either at a sensible price ain't that easy! Also, you have to make sure that you get hold of H4411 (Mk41) because the earlier boxing doesn't have the extra sprues for 6 bladed tail rotor, etc. Not easy! Simon
Might be worth investigating your local Modelzone for this one. I seem to recall them heavily discounting the Revel HAS 5 a while back. Might still get a bargain there.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob. Just tried Modelzone and the answer is zilch! Seems like Revell Sea Kings have become somewhat scarce - unless anyone knows better! H4427 is to be avoided though as it is the old moulding!
Please, has anyone sighted one of theserare and exotic creatures in the wild recently?
Hello again. Just acquired a copy of the Mk41 with Skua for about £9 (but £4 postage - a bit steep!) but the problem is sorted, thanks for your input. No doubt the matket will be flooded next week with copies for fiver but thats life!!! Simon
