Hi Nick
Just a suggestion, but I see that you might be using using single ply. How about making a basic wire frame like the original ontop of the coffee tin foil for a bit of structure, then sandwiching it in the pva and tissue either side. Maybe the foil might allow the form th be shaped once set.

Not a bad idea Nige, but I think the best idea would be the foil from a chocolate bar, it's thinner, and coupled with a sandwich of tissue, it should look reasonable.

Sorry folks, especially Nige (Okdoky), as he wanted to see those side covers constructed. Time has beaten me as I'm only able to work on this model at the weekends, this was supposed to be a Christmas present and it's now starting to get involved. So, before I cock it up again, I'm finishing the basic build apart from constructing the tow frame and rifle holder and handing it over this weekend. Final pics when I get the chance. I'm hoping to start another project soon for a magazine and that will have canvas sides, so Nige, you'll be able to see how I do it.

It's almost done, just the decals to apply. One of the items on the real vehicle I wanted to replicate is the rifle holder ... ... what do you think? ... this was the third attempt, it looks reasonable but I'm not at all happy with the result, but time is running out and the model will be shipped out on Tuesday evening. I feel as though I'm rushing this model again, the front axle snapped this time, and I think both the front and rear axles are a flippin nightmare and once fixed to the chassis, need to be handled really carefully. But then if I used a bit of sense, the hull would have been painted and decaled before fitting to the chassis. I'll try and grab a final shot before it's taken away.

Hi Nick
To my mind the shape looks about right .,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the only things I see that are obvious only cause you got a pic of the real thing are maybe needing to sit a little higher in the middle with the barrel end pointing down a bit, a thin lip on the bottom edge to get rid of the flatness on the edge of it. Oh and maybe the wee bracket on the top surface and tiny holes just for good measure.
I will have to wait and see your next project for the screens I see. Tee hee! I'm patient. I have to be with my own lathargic build pace.
