I've been promising for some time to start a series of helpful tips for modellers, well I'm about to start the first one. At the moment I'm part way through a build, it's an American Volunteer Department Fire Tanker: ipmsuk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pineridge&action=display&thread=8377&page=1 and I'm at a stage where the tyres require a spot of weathering. Several modellers have asked how to weather tyres, so I'll begin my first tutorial within that thread, so when you see this avatar ... ... you'll know there's a useful tip within the build.

Sorry to spoil the moment Nick, but the link you've put up doesn't work! (well it does, but it just says the thread doesn't exist.) am I being too previous as it's not ready yet??

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Tony. I did post the pics for this but then moved the post and now it seems that the pics have gone astray. I'm on holiday up in Scotland at the moment and checking in once in a while, I'll sort the links out just as soon as I get back.
