Hi there folks I thought I would post up one of my current builds I have ongoing which is my favourite truck I have had the pleasure to drive, though it now seems so long ago. The model is scratchbuilt around the beautiful KFS resin Leyland T45 or Scammell S26 transkit I had made an attempt at a cab in plasticard but got scunnered with the roof so was glad the transkit came out even though it is a civvy version I had to cut out the side lockers for storing ratchet straps The cupola was drilled out using a lovely stepped drill bit The rest of the civvy roof vent had to be removed tape protected the areas around from damage when matching the corugated roof surface around the cupola Weapons mount and cupola dry fitted. Cupola is a milk carton top of just the exact diameter and profile

Chassis for the truuck and trailer was produced using a jig to keep the plastic stip rails straight and true. Truck chassis is wider than typical truck and is parallel throughout its length. King trailer chassis is made from I section and the jig had to be widened. Triangular tow bar has rotating eyelet Turntable ring is from a fire appliance kit Iso lock at each corner will secure the flat racks or DROPS container loads Guide rails from thin strip added on top of chassis rails supplimented by widened areas at front and rear which help to keep the load moving straight Spare tyre is hung from a short chain or rope winch Wheels and mud guards are also from KFS and look great Hope you like

This lovely 8x6 "push and go" Tonka truck needed some rubber or in this case resin. The wheels came from KFS but needed some minor alterations having two lips on the rims and to replicate the hub bearings which are the same on the front, third and fourth axles being driven axles. The second axle is a non drive stearing. Front drive steer Second non-drive steer rear double drive KFS wheel before Removing the extra lip Replicating the second non-drive steer And all the drive wheels get three hub nut hole and a bearing lubrication point (I think) in the centres Resin filling hole plugs need sanded and tread scribed in and I also rounded off the very sharp edges to the outside edges of the tread All eight waiting for bolt heads and painting at some future date. Will need hints on how to replicate the distingtive ribbing effect that these tyres have where the reinforcement makes subtle bulges in the sidewalls and takes the weathering slightly differently.

Hi there Fatty, Just the man I want to speak to!!!!!
Nick said you work in a salvage yard for ex MOD vehicles, is that correct?
Probably only going to Perth but never normally go to display. The postings are quick cause I only got introduced to this site.
The builds are a good bit longer unfortunately.
PM comming your way!!!!!
