Anything with Star Trek in the title...... Stick a silly nose or a wig on someone and call them an alien..... Hmm, lets see, we,ve run out of stories, so lets create a holodeck and form the USS Enterprise AmDram society.......rubbish. Best acting in any of it is done by the hardware.

What was the movie which involved giant worms in the desert? ... they even made a sequel? ... there ya go, that obviously made an impression. For me to enjoy a Sci - Fi film it has to be reasonably credible and not too hammy! ... the last Alien film started to get boring, I think they just hoped that the story would continue, lame plot and too drawn out for me.

Hi Nick.
Was the film called "Spice", seem to remember that the people in it had 'funny' eyes and went round with tubes up their noses. Don't think that I ever watched it to the end.

No that wasn't a bad film although it was rather long and drawn out. I've just had a quick Google and I believe the title of the film I mentioned earlier in the thread was 'Tremors'.

Tremors was not a great film but it was fun the first time round. Obviously a rip of of the classic 'Dune' but on a much smaller scale. Tremors II and the TV series lost it any credibility at all.

ref Paddy's comments about Tremors 2 and the TV Series losing all credibility. Why, Oh Why do movie producers think it would be a good thing to to make money by keeping churning out sequels that are just get poorer. Jaws 1 was a brilliant film. Jaws 2 slightly less, but they should have stopped there! The follow ons were just awful!

Dune. Follows the book by Frank Herbert quite closely iirc. Don't know what it's doing in the "bad sci-fi movie" thread. I don't recall a sequel, but wouldn't surprise me, there were quite a few books in the series. Check out this link for more info. www.dunenovels.com/

Worst for me was 'From Dusk Till Dawn' started off as a good Tarentino road house/beat em up movie, but ends up in a road house/club where everyone turns into vampires and whearwolves!!!!! i think the script writer was drinking while he was writing and by the end of the script he was that pi**ed he went a little off the story line lol
