War of the Worlds...Both movies disappointing. TV series....rubbish. HG Wells story original was based here in Victorian Britain, so Americanising both movies and the TV series to me is all wrong. Remember the ending where Tom Cruise makes it to Boston and meets up with the parents who just happen to be Gene Barry and the lead actress from the first movie. Sentimental schlock at its best.

Okay way behind the times here................. Worst Sci Fi Movie ever was Zardoz unfortunately starring a fellow Scot Sean Connory who spent all the movie running around like a 'Oyster club' reject ( incase your unfamiliar with the club watch the first Police Academy) talking future speak with possibly the worst movie effects and dialogue ever!!!!!!

Psst me again......... Should've added remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still as I've mentioned it in Best Sci Fi ever. Who ever signed up Keanu Reaves as lead role have no right to reside on this planet!!!!! As for the Director.............let's just say the deepestv reaches of space just ain't far enough!!!

Check out "Atlantic Rim", a cheap(ish) rip off of the Western seaboard original, though it's saving grace is the array of current US military vehicles featured.

Without a doubt this would have to be Battlefield Earth with John Travolta. Ian

Morning,
Not a film, but my other half is really into old tv programs (She collects the DVD box sets) , so at the moment I am suffering through Blakes7.
Any one remember this old BBC1 series?
I was never a fan of this in the '70's and time has not been kind to it.

This thread has been sleepy for ages, and seeing an old black and white film named "Devil Girl From Mars' aired on TV recently made for an amusing watch as it was so bad! Another was the Earth Versus the Flying Saucers where the aliens space suits were described as 'Solidified Electricity'. Crass or what!
The only Sci Fi movie from that era that was really good was Forbidden Planet. I can remember being taken to see it as a child and the cinema was giving away promo card models of the space craft to cut out and make. Any uncut ones now would be very collectable.
