Foxy,
Hate to disillusion you but whilst the tank is pretty good, the trailer is seriously underscale according to some recent research myself and colleagues have carried out.
The proportions are good but the whole trailer is 12mm too short and about 4mm too narrow.
Once it's built it looks OK and most people won't notice.
This information is based on measuring the Bovington and Puckapunyal trailers and comparing those measurements to the Tamiya trailer.
I'm planning an article for the magazine shortly which goes into some detail on the trailer (research rather than modelling).
Regards, John Tapsell

Karlos,
Depends how 'late' you want. Dragon originally released a post-war option with Chinese and North Vietnamese markings (but I think it's probably the one above in a previous boxing).
The Tamiya T-34/85 is nice and simple to build but has shape issues compared to the Dragon kits (although whether you or anybody else would notice them once the model is finished is a moot point...)

Wolfie, Did you get up to the memorial/museum on Mont Ormel? - very impressive view of the whole area. I was there this time last year. St Lambert Sur Dives is also an interesting place, especially the Canadian memorial on the outskirts that records the exploits of Major Currie who won the VC. There is a 'dodgy' Tiger 1 outside Vimoutiers - the tank is real enough, but the engine deck is a total hotpotch of PZ IV bits.

In response to some enquiries here is a brief overview of how to include pictures in your posts. First, your picture needs to be available on the Internet, stored on either your own webspace or on one of the dedicated image hosting services that abound these days. For example Photobucket: photobucket.com/ or Picture Trail: www.picturetrail.com/There are a few things to be aware of though; Some hosting providers actively prevent files being shared on different domains, in other words you can only view your pictures from within the providers own server(s). Many 'free' hosting services allocate very limited bandwidth to users domains, if that is the case then multiple hits to an image stored on your own space may result in your webspace becoming unavailable for a period of time. The other thing to be careful about is the issue of copyright, there is a clause in the ProBoards service contract that states that they may use any image displayed via their forum services for their own marketing, advertising and promotional purposes, if image copyright is a concern to you then check before posting, you have been warned. Actually inserting an image is quite simple. I have a picture on a webserver, its address is; www.jackalsquadron.org/content/reviews/airfixlcvp_lp/images/DSCN2492.jpgNote that is a complete web address, to the server, jackalsquadron.org, the directory path to the file and the complete file name including its '.jpg' extension. In order to insert an image into your post first click on the 'Insert Image' button on the bar above the message window, it is the 4th button from the left on the second row. This will create an opening and closing 'img' tag with the word URL in between them. Simply delete the word URL and paste or type in the address of your image file. The result looks like this. Use the 'Preview' button to see if your image is inserted correctly, if it is then submit your post, if not then check that you have the complete address correctly inserted between the opening and closing 'img' tags. If you still can't get the hang of it consult the online help, failing that drop a PM to the Forum Administrator. Rules: Yes, you knew there would be rules. 1. Don't post lewd or vulgar images, if you do your user account will be suspended and if you are an IPMS member your actions will be reported to the committee. 2. Don't post copyrighted images without the explicit permission of the copyright holders. 3. If the number of images being displayed impacts reliability or performance the Adminstrator reserves the right to remove images to ensure the forum remains available. 4. Please keep the size of your image(s) down to 640 pixels wide, certainly no more than 800 pixels wide. Images larger than this will force themselves off the page and will result in viewers having to scroll L - R, any further postings following the image on that page will attempt to fill the space created.

I've had a number of Private Messages regarding the 'too many connections' message people are seeing.
I thought a bit of explanation and guidance might help to avoid problems.
Explanation:
This forum is provided as a free service, which is why we have banner advertising at the top of all the pages, one of the limitations of the free service is that our forum 'shares' a web server(s) with a number of other free forums.
In order to control the load being applied to the shared server at any one time the hosting company limit the number of users that can connect to it.
As the web server is physically located in the United States you will find that peak usage times in the US will coincide with slow access and the 'too many connections' messages you might see when you login here.
I have contacted the proboards20 support team and I am assured that the company has a history of expanding server hardware to their free boards as the need arises but that these occasional peaks they are monitoring at the moment are quite sporadic and random, usually occurring for a few days before subsiding.
Guidance.
If you come here and cant get in because of the 'too many connections' message please follow the instructions it contains, try again a few seconds later, don't just refresh the page and please don't keep refreshing the page over and over again, that simply exacerbates the problem by inundating the web server with even more connection requests!
If you get the message appear when you try to submit a posting the first thing to do is hit your browsers back-button, that will return you to the posting page with your carefully crafted prose.
The second thing to do is go get a cup of tea and try your post again a little later, if you just can't get off the 'net then you can always start another browser window and go surf somewhere else for a minute or two.
Resolution.
An 'IPMS members-only forum' is planned for the new website, ultimately it is the committees decision if it gets included. I have no control over that either but if it is added then the specification is for a paid, dedicated hosting arrangement. That will stop the access problems.
Request.
Assuming nobody has any questions regarding the above then might I ask that users please refrain from sending me complaints about the 'error', it isn't an 'error' as such and I cannot do anything to correct it. It is a service limitation that proboards20 apply to their servers.
Many thanks.

This item is intended to serve as a source of answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions being asked about how to use the features of this forum.
As more questions arise, answers will be added to this FAQ as quickly as possible.
1. Your Profile:
Each registered user has a recorded profile stored as part of this forums database. You can customise that profile in many ways.
There are four common items to customise in your profile.
a) Personalized Picture: This is the avatar or thumbnail image that is displayed alongside users posts, there are a few included within the system that you can select from.
As an alternative you can use your own image but be aware that the image must be available at an Internet address for this feature to work. For example, if your image is a file called 'me.jpg' in a folder called 'mypics' at a website called 'www.mywebsite.com' then the address of that file would be 'http://www.mywebsite.com/mypics/me.jpg'. This address should be entered in the I have my own pic: box and the checkbox next to it needs to be checked.
Please try to keep the size of the image under 100x100 pixels, if your picture is bigger you can force the forum to display it at 100x100 pixels by setting the Custom Avatar Width: and Custom Avatar Height: boxes to 100 each.
b) Hide E-mail from public?: If you don't want other forum users to be able to see the e-mail address you used to register with then check this box.
c) Time Offset: This has caused some confusion, the forum runs on a computer based in the USA, as a result its default time setting is US, some 5 hours behind the UK. You can use this option to adjust the time you see on the forum, note that it only applies to your profile, making a change yourself will not change the whole forums time settings. This feature allows overseas users to adjust time settings to match their locale.
d) Signature: If you add text to the signature box it will be appended to every post you make, it would be useful if users would include their current IPMS membership number as part of their signature. Please note that there is a limit on the number of characters your signature can contain.
2. Making Posts:
a) Add tags: This forum provides a number of facilities for including text and layout effects in your posts. The trick is to click the button you want first and then type your comments over the word TEXT that the button click inserts.
b) Keeping up to date: When you make a post you can choose to check the Notify of replies: box, this means that whenever a user replies to a post you've made you will recieve and e-mail alerting you. If you want to track other users posts then click on the 'notify' button at the bottom of their post and again you will be sent an e-mail alert.
c) Quoting: This feature can be very useful if you want to highlight the comments of another user or reply directly to something they've said. When you click the 'quote' button on someones post the reply box you see will contain the original post enclosed between an opening and closing 'quote' tag, you can edit the quoted text, you can also create more 'quoted' text by clicking the 'insert quote' button, it is the second to last button on the second row of the Add tags: section of the reply screen.
d) Private message: The forum provides every user with a private messaging function, you can use this to contact another user directly without needing to know an e-mail address. On any screen where you see the users name just click on it and you will be given the option of sending them a private message. If you receive a private message you will be notified of it when you login to the forum. The notification is at the top of the forum page in the fixed header banner.

The following are site-wide posting guidelines for all members participating on the IPMS UK Members Forum.
These rules may be amended in the future if necessary. It is your responsibility to check this rules section to stay informed of any changes.
Please post in the right forum!
Please do not cross-post your post in multiple forum categories. When posting, do not post the same question in multiple categories in hopes of getting a quicker response. This is called spamming, and may result in your being banned from the board. Choose the one category that best accommodates your message, and post it there, once. If you're following up on a question, reply to the original thread, not start a new one. Moderators will move posts to the appropriate forums as necessary.
Off-Topic Posts.
Off-topic posts will be removed at the discretion of the moderators.
Use a descriptive Topic subject.
This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with inappropriate or misleading Topic subjects may be deleted! Moderators will clarify topic headings as necessary.
No trolling.
Don't make posts that are inflammatory just to annoy people. The moderators will delete or lock these topics as necessary. Trolling will lead to an immediate ban.
Do Not Engage in Personal attacks.
Flaming will not be tolerated. This includes any material which is vulgar, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others' privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws. The moderators will delete or lock these topics as necessary. Personal attacks may lead to an immediate banning.
Do not post pornographic materials, links to warez or other objectionable sites.
Do not post or link to sexually offensive or sexually explicit material. This includes suggestive images, graphics, and comments.
Do not post info from or links to warez (pirated content) sites or sites with pornographic or objectionable content.
We have many younger visitors, under the age of 18 - do not link to sites with content that you would not want your own kids to see (or if you have no children, sites you would not want your mother to catch you viewing).
Do not use objectionable language.
These boards use a filter to replace profanity and other offensive language. Circumventing the filter by inventing new ways to spell the filtered words, or using words from other languages that mean the same thing, is considered bad form. English is a rich language with perfectly acceptable words with which to make your point. If you can't say it with out cursing, expand your vocabulary.
Respect the privacy of others.
Do not post others' phone numbers, addresses, pictures, etc., without their permission.
Complaints, abuse and harassment.
Complaints of any kind, comments, or reports of abusive behavior should be sent to the Moderators via Private Message.
Moderators.
The moderators are here to keep order on the forums and ensure all users have the same opportunity to express their opinions, ask their questions and discuss the topics that interest them. The moderators will monitor the forums and reserve the right to edit, move or delete posts or topics as they deem appropriate.
Do not ignore, harass, bad-mouth or otherwise make the moderator's lives difficult. They are doing their job as a favor to us all and are in no other way compensated for their time and effort.
Arguing with, talking-back to, or ignoring the requests of the moderators will be treated the same way such actions would be if directed at an administrator: Your posting privileges will be revoked.
Posting articles.
Do not try to post entire articles into a message or into multiple messages. You can include a link to the article, if it is on the web. It's better than duplicating information which can be found in another place and making the boards load slower. Help in including links and formatting messages is provided on the form when you're posting a message.
Advertising and Spamming.
These forums are not free advertising space. A certain amount of relevant, commercial posting will be tolerated but please do not abuse the privilege.
You may include a promotional link to your website in your signature, as long as it meets all the other requirements for signatures.
Flooding the forum with useless content, multiple posts on the same subject in multiple forums, and other "spam" will not be tolerated, and may earn the originator a ban.
Message content.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.
Copyrights.
You must not post copyrighted material that is not owned by yourself or the owner of these forums (IPMS UK). The best way to post an article or copyrighted material is to write your own summary and then post a link to the complete item. Or, post the first paragraph of the article to introduce the article with a link.
No cap locks.
Please do not post messages with either the subject or post all in capital letters or your message will be summarily deleted. Messages all in capitals are not only annoying but are read 50% slower than normal writing.
Signatures.
- Signatures will be no longer than 255 characters - Signatures may contain smilies, but no other images. Images will be removed from your sigline by an administrator at their discretion (though we'll probably ask you to do so first) - Signatures may contain a link to your personal or business (if it is hobby-related) site or sites that may be of use to other members. - Signatures are expected to follow the same guidelines as posts.
Penalties.
Abusing/breaking the above guidelines will result in action taken either by a moderator or administrator. Sometimes it will be as simple as your post being edited. In more severe cases, you will be banned immediately and without notice. A ban, if applied, is permanent.
Legal Disclaimer.
Users are responsible and liable for the content of their posts. Additionally the IPMS UK, and its moderators will be held harmless against any and all claims resulting from the mis-use of these boards.
