I am trying to find Hi-Res photographs of the Napier Lion Engine & transmission installation on Miss England I at the Science Museum.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi John, I have researched all the net and there is nothing clear enough to help with the model build. I have contacted the Science Museum and am waiting for a reply. A lot is available on the aircraft engine but I need to be able to see how the marine edition has the carburetors fitted and how it's exhausted and the wiring installed. Cheers Gary

Gary. It just so happens that i work at the Science Museum and see the boat many times as well as knowing the staff in the Conservation Department. If you want i can leave a message for one of the men and ask him for assistance as the request would probably go to whichever Curator deals with that gallery and this takes time.

Gary. A small update to let you know that i have taken the liberty of sending a message to my friend copying and pasting in your last message and asking him what would be the best way of getting information or photographs.

Hello Ian, What can I say, that's wonderful. From the photographs I have seen of the boat it looks like the engine compartment is reasonably accessible so I may be lucky and get enough information to build the engine.
Thanks for your help it is most appreciated.
Cheers Gary

Good Morning Gary. I had a reply from my friend last night to say that i can take pictures of Miss England provide they are not for publication. He also goes on to say that if i want copies of any files they have then i may send my request to another Curator who find will the records for me. I am back in to work tomorrow and will do this then and then let you know when i receive a reply and what records i get. If i am able to take photographs then this may be either Wednesday after work or the following week.
Hope that this helps. Ian

Hi Ian, That would be really great, any photographs of the engine would only be for my private use to help prepare drawings to build the model. I really can't thank you enough for your help it is really appreciated.
Regards Gary
