Right then lads! Got this beauty for me Chrissie. Just about to start the preliminaries when I noticed summat missing, (I think).
Where's the main wing spar?
I'm sure the main spar on a Wimpey sort of 'floated' in position across the fuselage interior. No-ones mentioned this in any review or whatever that I can find so I was kind of caught out.
Now, the problem--I haven't got any pics that show the spar so I have no real idea of it's dimensions, cross-section or position. Can anyone help me here??
I think it was an 'X' in section but the 'ole memories not what it was.
Be very grateful for any pictorial, (or other), help you could give me.
Cheers.

plastic, Not Wimpy, but Viking - which must have been comparable I think: there is a phantom drawing in Air Enthusiast 21, see www.save-a-viking.org/de/arbeitsplan.html > pics where you can see wing and tail plane spars runners in the cabin, or browse the net - you will probably find more pics of an ongoing Viking restoration in England I hope. best luck, good modeling, Rolf

Plastic,
You need to look at the extremely thorough '4 Plus' publication on the Wimpey which includes detailed construction text, drawings and stacks of photos on virtually every aspect of the aircraft including a picture of the main spar.
Cheers
