Great pics! Unusual to see an R.1 with the old black radome. Unusual to see a Hastings with blue and white spirals Jonathan !! - 51's TG507 - June '68 (I plead the 30 year rule M'Lud !)

OOh sweet nostagia....
I can almost hear that inimitable sound or Bristol Hercules -
(somehow like flushing onethousand toilets all at the same time, they used to say where I did my apprenticeship)
not exactly from that Hastings but from the relatives - the Hermes of Skyway !
Thanks Dennis.

Dennis,
Thanks for sharing the photos, any more?
Thought about sending some to Mick for his web site?
Any more thoughts/progress about own web site?
Don't worry, at the consequent court case under the official secrets act, I shall be a most noisy supporter on the pavement outside.....
I can barely remember the sound of those engines, but they impressed the hell out of me as a kid over Misson in Nottinghamshire, I think they were some of the last Hastings. I know one appeared at Finningley shortly afterwards, was it 507? Is it 507 that is at Newark now?
