As well as the Wellington MKII to keep dad1 happy, I see MPM have got the initial shots of their Sea Vixen as well. What are MPM normally like? I've never built one.

I made their Convair XFY-1 Pogo a few years ago. It went together OK. Engraved lines were a bit deep and the decals didn't seem to be quite the right size but I was quite happy with it.

Think you are confusing KP with MPM. The Pogo was KP.
MPM are a Czech limited run manufacturer. I've been building their kits since their PH-1 Phantom. They just get better and better, just don't expect Tamiya fit and be prepared to work with resin and photoetch.

I stand corrected - blame it on my age and losing the building notes, which I usually keep.
I do have an FH-1 kit which I haven't yet started but last night I had a quick look and here are my thoughts It's quite basic - fuselage, wings, tail and undercarriage plus a packet of resin bits for cockpit and wheel wells. The parts appear to fit together well, although there is some flash, and the surface detailing is quite restrained. The canopy is a vacform but looks well detailed and clear. A Sea Vixen would be well worth looking at.

It seems that Hannants have a bit of a tie-in with MPM/Special Hobby, ala the recent Meteor kit. MPM's releasing a FAW1 and Xtrakit (ergo Hannants) are relaseing a FAW2 so I reckon they're sharing the moulds. So if that's the case expect to see the same kind of quality as the Xtrakit Canberra PR9. Or at least I'm hoping it's the same quality

MPM do kits for themselves, special hobby, classic airframes, Azur, Pacific coast and other.
good detail, good to average fit resin and brass.
Their sea vixen Will be similar to the PR9. In other words very nice I would imagine!!

I did a couple of Defiants for the Wittering build. I'm pretty sure they were MPM. They were OK.

MPM/Special Hobby have come on by leaps and bounds in recent years and their current offerings are unrecognisable from their early attempts. As long as you do not expect a "shake and bake" kit and take your time and check fit of parts as you go along you should have no problems.
