I am thinking about building a ship namely Hms Illustrious. If the scale is 1.600, what is the length in cm,s or inches. I have never built ships before.

No period mentioned so I'll assume it the more modern one.
636ft so near as 12,3/4 194mtr so 32.3cm

of course, if you want to be old fashioned (like me)then its worth remembering that 1/600 scale is 50feet to the inch and therefore, if you use a vernier or ruler that has 10ths and you have the real life dimensions from somewhere (and if its the world war 2 Illustrious, it will only be in feet and inches anyway) one tenth equals 5 feet etc. so most of your dimensions are fairly easy to work out
