This may prove to be a `bridge too far` but I`ll never know until I try. I have unlimited access to it so reference photos and dimensions are not going to be a problem. As I only build in one scale it`s going to be 1:24th again.

Hi Harriet, The one in question is in Tate & Lyle livery so I may well keep it at that.

Great stuff, I'll just settle down in the corner to watch! If you want to do another Steam lorry after mastering this one, may I suggest ... My favourite steam wagon she's just beautiful you can just fall into the paintwork, it's so lovely! (A girl can dream!) Image from www.steamscenes.org.uk

WOW! It certainly is a beauty.
I can`t remember ever having seen a twin axle steamer before.

Apparently there were a few - friend of mine's uncle owns a Sentinel with dual rear axle and it's a tipper. It also has the boiler in the cab - along with a heater! That's me on the right in the glasses! (Picture courtesy of Steam Scenes)

I took about 40 reference photos on Monday (most of them on my back under the truck)and will print them out and add the dimensions next Monday. Do you like the hand-brake on the second photo?

"The band" - oh yes, simple is as simple does - especially on steam vehicles!

Hi, The drawings are almost done and just awaiting a few more measurements that I somehow missed getting last Monday at the museum. I paid my first visit to Beamish this week and came across this beauty.

Nice start - where did the wheels come from?

Hi Harriet, I bought them at the Gaydon Show a couple of weeks ago. It`s difficult to tell from the photo but the rears are twins with a larger diameter and seven holes as opposed to the five at the front. They are for the Mack Bulldog but look so similar to what I was looking for that the difference doesn`t matter.
