Hey There! I've finally took the plunge and joined IPMS(uk)after considering it for a couple of decades? This fantastic hobby has stayed with me for over forty years, other hobbies (of which there has been many!) have come and gone but plastic modeling has remained a constant throughout, I've build in most genre although predominantly aircraft and more recently almost exclusively British types of the cold war era. Not so much frontline I prefer my build unarmed (no pacifist agenda??) prototypes, experimental and research types so lots of 'Raspberry Ripple' and the colours of the various institutes and establishments. I enjoy the research as much as the physical build. I'm not too concerned with super accuracy, but don't usually build 'out of the box' I like to add a little detail so it's unique to me, I have attempted some more advanced builds including vacforms coldcast resin and cross kitting when the subject I need isn't available mainstream. Apart from my stash (currently around 50 kits?) I have a large research library of over 100 books and many more modelling magazines, I have 99% of Airfix magazines since 1960! and every SAM from 1979 to 2011! I'm also the proud owner at least one tinlet of every Humbrol Enamel paint colour including 17 now discontinued not including 50+ Humbrol Authentics (the best model paint in the history of the universe!) This kind of sums up my modeling philosophy, I still build pretty much as I did as a kid, the same British classic kits too! no airbrush, no photoetch, no correcting tiny perceived errors so I don't stress about builds, quite the opposite, my partner says she knows when I'm content with life because I'm busy (what she affectionately calls) 'stickin'!! I'm looking forward to exploring this fine society and hope to make a useful contribution?
