What I do with acrylics is clean the cup with running water, put 2 or 3 cupfuls through the brush, and clean dried off pigment with a wooden cocktail stick. End of the session, I then strip the brush and clean with a cocktail stick again. This works OK for me.

Do not clean Acrylics from an airbrush with White Spirit. Water or Isopryl Alcohol should shift fresh unhardened paint. For more stubborn paint a can of liquid reamer (airbrush cleaner) from either www.little-cars.com or www.hiroboy.com will be a great assistance. H

Aztek/Testors do a pretty good airbrush cleaner that deals very well with acrylics [most of which are actually alkyd modified enamels] and is generally kind to the various synthetics gaskets, O rings etc inside an airbrush.
Generally after acrylics I flush with Aztek cleaner until the brush sprays clear then wash through with destilled water or Isopropal. After enamels flush with white spirit or paint manufacturers thinner until clear spray then repeat above.

Thanks for the help, will keep all tips in mind & probably try them all. Try Windolene that clears all acrylics and it is cheap works because it has a drop of ammonia in it and that is what gets rid of those paints. Don't waste white spirit cleaning acrylics it don't work, but after water or windolene spray a drop of Polyclens through it just to make sure Ted

Ayup All..
Just another coupla quickies...
I've got some neat liquid Ammonia. will that harm the o rings at all if sprayed through on its own? Could i spray just water through my brush afterwards to rinse out? I use enamels... i do have some liquid reamer though, too. or will a spot of Cellulose Thinner do the trick?

If using enamels Ammonia is not what to use. Either White Spirit, Liquid Reamer or Celly will do the trick.
It is all about using the right thinners for your chosen paint.

All As an aside to the above, I recently had to visit my local Dental Hygienist and after being made to feel like an 8 year old because I dont clean my teeth properly, I was given a small bag of Tepe Interdental Toothbrushes. They work like floss but are actually small brushes on wire in various sizes from .4mm up to 1.6mm. As I am sure most of you do I am always on the look out for that useful modelling item so half the brushes have been put aside to clean my airbrush with. Have a look at this link and tell me what you think. www.toothbrushdirect.co.uk/shop.php?CategoryID=35Paul
