Hi while in the Pound shop today I came across this pack of 56 different sized and shaped felt pads , original use for furniture on wooden floors . Brain kicked in and 1 pound later I had a set . trip home into the workshop and hey presto 5 minutes later I had made my own flexy file pad . All I did was place the emmery cloth face down and I removed part of the adhesive covering on the felt pad and . placed it onto the emmery cloth in this case 400 grit , pressed down and cut round . Job done . I will post up two photos as soon as my scanner is warmed up cheers ian

Hi all here is the end result , the black area is the emmery cloth , I can use it as it is or cut a small piece off and superglue the rear of the pad to a wooden stick or the back of an old toothbrush , it is up to you to experiment . At less than 2 pence per flexy file it has got to be a try out . cheers ian

Can you use the soft fabric pads for polishing and burnishing after painting too? Would that work?

Just been out to retrieve my pack of pads from the garage - the long strips are the ones that get left over after putting them on the bottoms of wooden and mirror tile model bases - got a use for them now- thanks again Ian
