How could I set up a Tomcat SIG? I,m currently in mourning for the passing of this great aircraft from front line service. Given the plethora of paint schemes, squadron markings and service lifespan, wouldn,t it make a great subject for a SIG, and pay respects to the greatest Grumman cat!!!!

You first need 5 paid up members of the IPMS (UK) who have the same interest as you. Once you've got that far, you need to contact Rob Monfea, IPMS (UK) Liaison Officer, it's as simple as that.

Might be worth contacting Ian Day, as he's an F-14 fan.
Cheers,

Thanks for the support for us "wingy thingy" people Nick, but I'm naturally assuming that Howard has had some sort of "Road to Damascus" moment and is referring to the F11F and F9F respectively. ;D

Im an F-14 Tomcat fan too. Even though I am a treadhead. And yes I would be proud to join the F-14 SIG.

Hi Snowdog, You need to send me your contact details, along with the names and IPMS membership numbers of at least 5 current IPMS (UK) members (including yourself) who wish to found the SIG. You also need to nominate a Secretary or Leader. Quickest way would be to send them personal messages via this board, as I don't have access to individual members e-mails. If you haven't found 5 people yet, drop John Tapsel an e-mail and ask him to put a request in the Magazine. I will then send you a copy of the Branch and SIG Constitution. You need to read it and sign the declaration at the back (basically saying you agree to the house rules and that your SIG is financially independent of the main society) and post it back to me. After that I can authorise your SIG and pass the details on to the Webmaster and Mag Ed. My contact details (and JT's) can be found here: www.ipms-uk.co.uk/committee.htmCheers, Rob M.
