What happened to the RAF SIG run by Dale Clark ? Was it too wide a window of subjects to survive or what ?
Perhaps more finely focused SIG's work best, but it just seems a shame that there's no space for a good spread and exhibition displays of the RAF's post war equipment.

Hi Dad1,
The SIG is no longer active. Dale decided to disband it following licencing difficulties with the MoD regarding the use of the term 'RAF'. It ran for a while as the UK Air Arms SIG, but following further issues with other SIGs who felt they were being infringed upon, Dale decided to call a halt to it.
I agree it's a pity, as it clearly had a place in the society and with the 90th anniversary of the RAF nearly upon us (2008) it would be timely if somebody wanted to take it on.
Cheers,
Rob M.

Hi Rob, My computer just threw a fit ....... Anyway I wasn't intending to start one, trying to run 3 SIG stands at Telford is more than enough !!! Dale obviously wasn't prepared to call the MOD's bluff .... I would love to see them try and charge licence fee for producing RAF roundels for models. All you need to be is one shade out and one fractional measurement different and their case would be blown out of the water - let's face it They pinched it from the French anyway !!! SIG - GB for modellers of post war RAF subjects ....... no problems could be picked with that !!!
Looks like we'll have to wait for some other plucky soul.

Ayup All...
Thanks for the heads-up.
I think i was the only person to post on his forum for the FAA. (and that was a 'hello' post! it is a shame as Dale was good to debate with. although he can be a little robust in his views. his posts on here were always interesting too.
Are you there Lurking Dale? come on in and liven the forum up!
