Whatcha folks My web images are on Sony's Imagestation, which I have been informed is closing down in the new year. I've set myslef up with a photobucket account (as it's seems to be the preferred option around here) and Sony are recommending Shutterfly, but what is the best way to maintain any images I have on here already?
The long winded reload option?
How do I find them all around the site? There aren't that many really... just can't remember where I left them, sign of middle age encroaching I think.
Cheers Rich

Ayup Rich,
As soon as the photo gallery where your pics are stored closes down, the images will be dropped frm the forum. As far a I know, I can't search the forum for pics uploaded by any particular member. So, soz mate, it's the hard option of transfer to photobucket or whatever program you wish to use.

With regards to Alfie's reply I found that you do not need the right click to copy. When I tried it I got "copied" indication as soon as I left clicked to select it.

I've found that Photobucket does that since I posted my original reply. Nice to see a customer friendly piece of software upgrade for once. ;D Alfie

Had an email this morning complaining that in the past week there have been over sized photo's put on the IPMS site. Why I got an Email I do not know, as I have not posted pictures for some time(over two months). I have already read the SouthSix 1 report some time ago on this subject, so do not know why I have been sent this message again!!!!!. I also have removed quite a few offending pictures to comply with the regulations. I feel I am being singled out on this one. ;D

Ayup Folks. The email was a general post to everyone using the forum, it was not aimed at anyone in particular. I have posted a request several times over the past month for restraint on picture sizes, and it seems to be ignored by a minority. There were two posts yesterday, both sets of pictures were above 1000 pixels wide and the members concerned were emailed requesting them to adjust the sizes of posted photographs, one set has been removed, the other was altered, many thanks for that. I apologise if anyone feels they have been singled out, but the email system I use, which is via the forum provider, does not give the email addresses of any other recipient of the email.
This site is usually self policing, but every now and again I have to wield a big stick, I don't like doing it but it comes with the territory of forum administrator. There are only so many times you can make a request and say please before action has to be taken.
Once again, the email was not aimed at anyone specifically, and I apologise if that seemed to be the case. Incidentally, following the email, members who had not visited the site for some considerable time actually logged on ... strange that ... eh?

"From a distance ....." I would like to lobby for patience and mercy with moderators and webmaster - they are doing a swell job as volunteers for all uf us - thank you ! They also have to enforce rules for the benefit of all. Rolf, feeling a bit guilty because of asking someone for posting of a superb photo build here.....

Apart from Photobucket (which will automatically resize) you can also use Irfanview for the PC, this does batch conversion of pictures and one of the options is to resize them. Irfanview is also Freeware and is probably one of the best image organiser programs out there for the PC. And just for the record, I'm on Nick's (Southsix) side on this one. having gone through the various stages that he did, unfortunately the only option left to him was a mass mailing. But let's get back to real problems in life, so much modelling to do and so little time to do it. If only irfanview could sort that out
