Actually I am starting to suspect that the cab is the problem. Every thing else scales out but it still doesn't look quite right.

OK gang I need some input here. I don't think this looks quite right. Now around 60% of this is scratchbuilt to 1/24 scale with the Revell Merc kit providing the wheels and axles, battery box and air tanks, engine and cab. However I have double and treble checked my measurements and calculations, and they are OK so I have to come to the conclusion that either the 1/25 Merc kit is just too small or that the cab is maybe 1/28 or so, enough to show. Note how the wheels etc do not look too small. Or am I imagining it. I'm just not sure. LOL I have Italeri kit 739 on order as a back up but it'll mean doing the cab and chassis again and using this one for summat else grrrr. What do we think chaps.

There is the thought of course, that if I'm not sure, then a non truck person isn't gonna spot it ;D
Oh and the middle pic looks a little odd but thats cos there is actually quite a gap between cab and body on the real thing.

Well I went and plonked it under the nose of the MD of the company in question, and he didn't notice. So it'll do me ;D

If he is anything like our MD he probably doesn't know what a truck looks like never mind a model being not quite right. Ours is so out of touch he thinks we deliver with horse and cart or canal barge. Looks good to me mate and I spend all day every day looking at the things.

Well now the body isn't quite so bare I'm quite a lot happier with it. Howard's tautliner building method works a treat. Etch tautliner buckles eeeek loads of work but what a result!

After a layoff enforced by the Post Office GRRR my door hinges and latches finally appeared. Locking bars and top and bottom latches scratchbuilt.

He was there? Where was I? H You can't miss Chris, big cuddly truck driving bloke, chewing a Yorkie and wearing a yellow T' shirt, loaded down with plastruct. He was talking to me while you walked past, in fact, he was stood next to you for a few minutes outside ... ;D
