Finally got to grips with the Revell Scag after it had stood on my to do shelf for a year or two. I found this picture online and it set me off to produce a model using this car as a basis. So far I've built the body up and got the first coat of Zero One Black base coat on, I'll be masking it up for the upper colour tonight. Should be in a position for Clear by thursday night. The chassis is already underway and so far I'm very impressed with fit of parts and detail in the box as standard. I'm building it for an OOB competition at my club next month so I'll be doing nothing extra to it. Judging by what I've seen so far I may build another to detail. Ian

Had a bit of a set back last night when the drying body fell off the paint stand onto the old cutting mat i use to floor my spray booth. The body picked up about three months worth of accumulated spray dust. As a result I'm having to sand back the roof and a couple of other areas before attmepting to respray them. You can rest assured there was some serious cursing going on. Ian

As you know this is the second body shell I've had. I'm hoping I can resolve the problems tonight. We'll see what happens.
Pictures will follow.

Here's a picture of the body today. I've sanded back the roof and wing tops and touched in the Black on the wings. I'm going to mask up and spray the second colour over the weekend probably. Ian

Ever get the feeling a model is doomed from the start. Eagle eyed viewers will recall that 1. This is my second Scaglietti body 2. I dropped the model onto the spray booth floor when wet a couple of nights ago. Well tonight after serious remedial work and a couple of hours careful masking I sprayed the Red centre sections on the body. All went well until I removed the making tape (Tamiya) from the nearside of the body shell. The tape has removed a strip of paint from the window sill/top of the door. Cue more cursing. More will follow. This kit will not defeat me! H

Ian stick at it. The gremlins don't always win.

Just applied the second coat of pre-mix clear over the decals I applied last night over the coat of 2Pk Clear I applied Monday night. Pictures show the body before cutting back and polishing etc. I'll let it cure for a couple of days before I do all the work to polish it up!
