Now that the Yamaha and the Honda have been finished and I only have the Wacky Racer, 2 Yamaha's and the 1/8 Ford on the go I thought I would start another project just to make life interesting. Nick gave me this car to build and so I decided to pick this one as the next project. Been at it a few weeks now but finally got something worth showing to start a thread: The engine was first on the list which is almost complete: Then came the cockpit which is just missing the dash and steering wheel: Also started painting the chassis: and finally have made a start on the bodywork:

Superb progress Spike, you're doing an excellent job.
Incidentally, just thought I would expand a little about the history of this kit. It was given to me some time ago and it's been sitting on the shelf ever since, one of those kits you kid yourself that you'll build eventually. Following Spike's original post on this forum and seeing his quality of build on the bikes, I thought who better to give life to this kit and do it justice (yes I gave a kit to Fatty aswell), can't have the chuckle brothers arguing. Eventually, both the kit Spike is building and the F1 Ferrari donated to Fatty, will form part of the mobile display for the 'Derby & District' Model Club.
My thanks to Spike for sharing his work on here and to agreeing to build the kit.

I did think about some etched bits and carbon fibre, but having enough fun (not) on the Yamaha's especially with the carbon fibre, I envy the people who can get carbon fibre decal to go around awkward shapes and to look perfect but I'm doing me best. Will hopefully get some progress shots up soon on the Yamaha's.

Thanks Rich, I may have to try the tights idea to do the paint effect carbon fibre, it would save alot of time, now just need some tights anybody got any ;D. Well got some progress done on the Nissan and here's the pics: Apart from the front brakes and fuel intakes the chassis, engine and cockpit are finished. And the bodywork has been painted and awaiting the decals

The chassis is now complete apart from the tow hook which I caught and knocked off : Decided to add a little detail to the wheels by replacing all the rivets with real ones as there was only 20 per wheel and I nearly got them all spaced out properly . And finally got all the decals done on the bodywork which took abit of time as the decals did not wont to slide of the backing without a good soaking in Microsol:

Spike, you've done a superb job, we'll soon have a box full of club stuff waiting to travel. Now then, let's have a look at the show diary ... Incidentally, any truth in the rumour that fatty is going to attempt to put a train layout in a suitcase ... toot toot! ;D
