Hi while in Modelzone Nottingham , I picked up the new Tamiya Opel Blitz kit at £18-95 , I have done a very quick look at the kit it is a mix of good and bad , the wheels are the early style 6 fixing studs and holes , why they produced this I do not know see scan for corrct late war pattern from Italeri . It has bad points on the inside of the cargo wooden walls , ejector sink marks in hard to eliminate areas. also inmside the cab roof , rear wall and doors ,only a sump for the engine rest is missing. . it has seams on the chassis rails. For a new kit I rate it 7 out of ten . Bonus is the cargo of jerry cans and fuel drums . cheers ian

I picked up a 3T Opel Blitz and seperately a Flakvierling. I spotted that among other AA ordenance, Flakvierling mounts were sometimes mounted on the flat bed of the Opel truck, with side boards dropped down. I may do this with mine, so if anyone knows if any modifications were done to the back of the truck or the gun mount I'd appreciate any points raised.

Hi Lioner. Well it was a basic Opel Truck with as you say the sided's being lowered. This was the basic use that most German trucks used, as by this time no real modifications were used for AA mounted trucks. Some however were armoured in the cabs by the Luftwaffe. But your basic idea is sound for the Opel in this role.
