Well I decided to build a trailer for that Pete being as I was quite pleased with it and in the stash I have that Revell chrome tank trailer.
Ohhh man what a nightmare. Its chrome so it won't stick without superglue and theres fingerprints all over. I mean 80% of the sprues are chromed grrrr.
Any suggestions anybody?
This could become the weathering offering just to hide all the smears and prints grrrrr. Man its like a cricket pitch worth of chrome grrr.
Grrr

Ah the Beall tanker trailer, that should keep you quiet. The only suggestion I can give you is remove the chrome from surfaces where you need to apply glue. If you are using superglue, watch that the fumes don't discolour the chrome.
have fun Chris ... ;D

Chromed plastic what a joy. You could try a tip from an automotive forum. Spray the entire sprues with Klear BEFORE doing anything allow to dry for at least 48 hours and then carry on. The Klear should not blush white like the plastic coated bits do and if any does another coat of klear will usually remove it.

Oh gawd this thing is gonna look awful grrrrr. The chrome picks up every fingerprint and you can't scrape every bit away cos its not always clear which are the mating parts. And then the plastic glue smears as well anyway The tanker halves were twisted and I had hell of a do just to get them to line up let alone do it without spreading glue etc all over. The kleer option might have been a good idea if I'd heard it a week ago. Actually its not so much the white discolouration thats a problem, that just cleans off with a bit of isopropyl alcohol. Its the glue smears and fingerprints. Grrrrrrrr

'WOW', thats Impressive and no mistake Wolfie, must take up some room lol. Not like me tank-ers ;D. How long did that take you to build, with all the problems with the glue, must have taken ages.
