I came across this photograph of a Harrier GR1 and its choice of weapon load. It took a couple of us a while to identify everything on show. See how you get on and I might dig a little Harrier something out for the first person to correctly identify everything. Generic names will do rather than NATO designations as I'm only a rigger! i123.photobucket.com/albums/o301/alfie557/harrierquiz.jpgAlfie

Hi all,
The answers are..........
(Well, as I have a B+W version of this photo fuly annotated in an old HS publication, it wouldn't really be fair, would it? So, I'm not entering!!!)
GR1 et al - I'd suggest answers on a PM to Alfie.
A clue. Some of those things go in some of those other things...
Enjoy the challange and good luck!
Cheers,
Nick

Annoyingly, both are vaguely familiar... just a thought - 13 may be SRAAM 75, the British missile that was rejected in favour of a later Sidewinder.
I'm going to guess that 3 is the alternative 2" rocket pod as used by the navy.

Hi Alfie... well, as nobody else has come up with anything, i'll revert to some of my original thoughts. I wasn't too sure about suggesting that 3 may be napalm.... My original thoughts about 13 were some kind of target marker - but, having done some researching, I'm pretty sure they ARE SRAAM 75s...

Before the SRAAM was called the SRAAM it was called the Taildog, but you need to be REALLY ancient to know that...... As the Taildog was around when the GR1s started out in service, that looks like a good match to me.
