fatty
Beautiful job - you have inspired me to get off my backside and get my Stug 3 finished. I love the zimmerit - never thought of using a hot iron before, I always used a thin covering of putty and a suitable scraper normally the serrated edge of an old hacksaw blade, but I think I shall give it a go - next project is a B 17 so i am not sure how the 'Belle' will look with zimmerit all over it!!
How did you find the vallejo acrylics, I assume you used the model air range - have just bought some but not had a chance to use them yet. The model range is excellent and have used them recently for a couple of figures (phots posted shortly - working this weekend!!)
Anyway Fatty - great looking Tiger - may have to postpone the 'Memphis Belle' and continue with German armour.

I wasnt too impressed with it, i find it dries too quickly around the nozzle/needle thus reducing the flow.....
Thanks for the comments guys, still lots to do....

Interesting - I heard that you have to have the pressure up pretty high, around 20 - 25 psi and that even though they are meant to be 'sprayable' from the bottle it sometimes help to thin them slightly.
Trial and error I guess
Keep up the good work - annoyed I am at work thsi weekend otherwise I can see my Stug 3 getting the finishing touches.

I used to have that problem with Aeromaster Acrylics until i dropped the air pressure and added a spot of wetting agent to the mix (try Hobbycraft for this). H

When i put the paint in the pot for spraying it looked ok, but i think next time i will dilute slightly...... as you say "trail and error"

Nice Zimmerit, though I prefer the 'putty' method myself. Disappointing that neither the AFV Club kit nor Dragon's have the Zimmerit moulded on as most Tigers had at that period. Wittmann's Tiger at the Villers Bocage action. IAN
