Roger, according to several print data a number of short wing A-O / A-1's were modified with 3 camera ports in the rear bomb bay for recce purposes. Perhaps 88 expert John McIllmurray might be able to help with markings and detail info on those - see www.aimsmodels.co.uk/Personally have not investigated this subject in detail yet as I have no plans of modelling one with short wings. PS
check instructions and illustrations of new 1/32nd decal sheet from AIMS - one recce bird featured !
This should answer most of your questions.

You could also try the Luftwaffe Experten Message Boards - www.luftwaffe-experten.org/forums/ - you do have to register, but imo it's worth it. Incidentally, John McIllmurray is one of the familiar names I've spotted there.

Loooking at the kit more closely last night, I noticed the same thing- no bomb bay detail or underwing ect racks included. rather starnge as Revell had full access to an ongoing restoration to base the kit on, maybe it was for economic reasons. Ted, have you checked the web site mentioned on the instruction sheet? www.ju88.netyou may find something usefull there, I have not had time myself yet maybe later today

The dive brakes were removed and additional fuel tanks were fitted internally and externally to the fuselage. The D-3 was the tropical version of the D-1. Hope that helps. Regards, Alfie

Don't know why John is shy to post this here too,
so I'm taking the liberty to lift the content of his last post from LEMB - hope John & LEMB don' mind:
SIC Hi all, received my 1/32 Ju 88 decals today and I am very happy with them, hope you will be too. I cannot get in touch with Fantasy Printshop at the mo so do not know how long I will have to wait for the instruments that are needed in the cockpit so I have taken the dicision to go ahead and sell the main decal sheet as is and will bring out the smaller instrument decal sheet as soon as possible. As for the ETC racks and bombs needed J Rutman is doing them for sure and I myself am almost finished the masters for a C-2, A-0 4 bladed prop and A-1f early rear defence canopy.
Happy New Year
John (AIMS) SIC

- Different engine installations led to different shaped cowlings

Thanks for all the info guys, its always the same, the more research, the more questions. in this case I,ll stick with the A-0 version, AIMS are producing the 4 blade props and spinners along with decals. as research progresses this may change, depending what aftermarket bits are released. far anyone who has the kit , J Rutman are rumoured to be producing the missing ETC 500 bomb racks.- can anyone confirm this? I have another on order, but that may be the standard day bomber, but if an conversion to any of the G or S series becomes a reality, then I might change my mind. colin, make this an early entry for disply at SMW09, Thanks
