Has anyone out there built one of these or can you tell me if it has been reviewed? I started mine and didn't like what I found so I went looking for help. Pavla models sell fixes for fin, cockpit and nose but troubles appear to go deeper with wrong leading edge sweep, fuselage too long and the wrong shape ahead of the intakes found so far.

Review of TM version (Flagon F) sent to IPMS last week but it will obviously be some time before this appears in print. On TM replacement nose and fin needed and probably same for the Flagon A. Nose section on kit is about third of an inch too long. What can be wrong with the wing leading edge? Early versions had a straight leading edge. It concern over fuselage getting wider ahead of the cockpit is what is being referred to this is quite correct, radome dia was great than fuselag width. With replacement nose I believe kit comes out at about the correct length. watch for under fuselage stores stations, these are handed but instructions and sprue have incorrect numbering. Large intakes on fuselage flanks best fitted after the two pieces have been joined rather than putting them together first. With replacement parts makes up into a good replica.

Thanks for the comments. Is there any chance of getting a look at the article before publication? I assume from the letter above that it is in electronic format - if so could you e-mail it to me, please? Which references did you use? I am still digging and finding conflicting information. What seems consistent is that the leading edge sweep should be 60 deg and the kit has a bit more than this. My main concern is the shape of the nose in plan view. I know that the radome is wider than the fuselage - it is the way it bulges that worries me. All the pictures and 3 views show a much smoother transition from radome to fuselage than that in the kit. What really gets to me is that having spent £17 on a kit I need to spend nearly that much again to get it resemble the real thing!

Send your E Mail address to keithportlib@hotmail.com and I'll send it. The replacement radome is slightly smaller than the fuselage width so transition to its dia is less marked than with the kit item.
