I have read several articles on using a thin coating of Johnson's Clear, prior to adding decals, after decaling and before applying any weathering..... Nowhere has it been mentioned, if I need to thin down the Johnson's Clear before spraying.... or do I apply it straight from the bottle ??

Ayup Mate...
No. use it 'Neat'. use a nice flat brush as well to put it on. It's better than spraying, and you don't have to flush your Airbrush out with Windex, windowlene or neat Ammonia...
