Hi All Looking for davice on painting rail sleepers in the Trumpeter kit. My first attempt looks to much like polished wood and i can not get a nice weathered effect so any advice welcomed

Hi Davidfrancis. Well if you have cracks and grooves like wood has on the trumpeter kit, then black matt primer is your first choice, this allso helps as a basic starter on plastic, plus gives you that depth feeling. Then try differant browns and yellow paint and washs, its trial and error. But what helps is if you can take a look at some real sleepers or worn wood, this then gives you the colours needed for your project. I am sure there are many other ways, but this is the way I do it. Hope this helps.

Hi David I cut sleepers from real wood and stain them using diluted paint , by far the best way of replicating them cheers ian
