Dear All,
Any body know if there has ever been a kit made of the Auster AOP 9, in 1/48th scale......?

Colin, No AOP9 that I am aware of in 1/48, although the guys who install motors and actually fly their models have a 'quarter scale' kit widely available. And converting an injection MkIII to a 9 is not an option, I suspect. For the truly skilled and ambitious Hallam vac made a 1/72 version. I have never seen one completed on display, but that is in part because my kit is unmade, untouched and unwanted. Yours if you want, 1/48th it ain't but possibly the only 1/72nd one in town! Seriously, I bought it a few years back in a fit of enthusiasm and never actually used it. The diorama that seemed so neat in my head never became reality (Auster, a pair of Airfix Landies and a few soldiers on a small bit of tarmac in the Omani desert...) so it is surplus to my requirements. Send me a message if you're interested. John

John,
Thank you for that, PM inbound...
Alfie,
Thanks for the web page, could be very useful, intriguingly it mentions a 1/48 kit, although I suspect I will not be able to find one nowadays.
Might have a go at trying to scale this up....

Sanguin,
Public thanks for sending me that Hallam Auster AOP 9........
From some one more used to 1/48, I'm still sure you've sent me a 1/144 model...................................
Thanks again.

Colin, ... For the truly skilled and ambitious Hallam vac made a 1/72 version. I have never seen one completed on display, ... Gosh, I'm obviously "truly skilled and ambitious" - I built one at least 15 years ago. Sadly I no longer have it, it went in the bin, to the "give an old model a new home", or otherwise left my ownership. IIRC it was a nice kit to build. Colin, go for it!
