Hello Chaps
Hope you dont mind me wandering in. I have put aside my tendancy for Luftwaffe aircraft and have been seduced by the prospect of the Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor Gun and limber. Am pretty happy with the external colours but not sure of the interior. Does anyone have any ideas?
Am resisting the urge to reach for RLM 02.....
Hope you can help.
Paul

Medium cream interior for this baby.
I am building one also Paul, well its been on for a year now, I am trying to use the etchings in and out, have mostly done the 25 Pounder and the Quad chassis. Have both Morris and Chev to make, will watch this space with interest. The crew are rubbish but can be added with new Heads etc, but if your just making the Vehicle/come combination, then driver is all you need. One of mine is the Airfix(chev)and Tamiya Limber and 25Pdr and the Morris Quad is Tamiya complete.

Guys
thanks for the help - I mamnaged to pick up the 1/35 Tamiya kit of quad, limber and 25 pounder. Also bought the PE sets for all three - thats was testing.
Kits complete - just need to paint them. I have to say the external colours were going to be NATO standard IR Green/Black but will go with the cream/beige /off white interior as suggested, although I have seen a few with the interior painted the same green as the outside. Ill go with the cream though - will break up the 'monotone' nicely.
Ill post some phots shortly.
Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you have been a busy man Paul.
The PE for the 25 Pdr I found the most taxing, so many little bits to remove and change, but will be nice to see some pictures, the only one's I have are from the Desert and they were sand colour.
The Tamiya Quad I am hopeing to do in desert colour and the Chev for the Pacific(Australian), but am haveing trouble with pictures of the Aussie one?,so if you know of any that would be a great help lol.

Hi Chaps, Tamiya or Italeri do not make Morris Quads in 1/35th. Tamiya makes a very bad effort at a Ford Canadian Military Pattern one with a no.12 cab & Italeri make a better later CMP Chevrolet with a No.13 cab. Also the Aussies made their own bodies for Quads on chassis supplied by Canada which looked totally different to the forementioned kits. Howard

Ahh Mr chippyrail maybe you have some pictures of the Aussie one, would be a great help lol.
Well the one I have from Tamiya is a ford looking Quad lol, yes your right it needs improvement, but thats what modeling is all about, mind you I do not count rivets.
The Chev I have was an olde Airfix one and again it needs Improveing. I apoligise for the word Morris, it was a slip of the keyboard!!! ;D, But hopefully it will be one when its finished and not a ford.
I have two of the Italeri kits and as you say they are not bad.
Again if you could furnish some pictures of the Aussie version I would even pay for them sent lol.
Sorry Paul, I hope I am not takeing over your great build lol, I to wonder into Aircraft sometimes, but its all modeling and what you like. I find it a great Honour to show some of my work here when I feel its up to scratch, 'I hope' ;D.

Chippy - take your point.
Foxy - Yes I have been busy, luckily I spent a week learning a computer based accounting system and as such I had free evenings in the accommodation throwing plastic and PE together.
The PE was a real drama and I am impressed i managed to actually use most of it. The make or break is the gun shield (not sure of the technical term) which came as a thin sheet with markings for the various racks, boxes and straps, all in PE - looks great under a coat of primer. I even managed to glue the hooks onto the spokes of the support wheel underneath the gun - that was a challenge!!
I hope to pop into Tilbury Fort this weekend as the guy that runs it has a Quad, limber and 25 pounder parked inside soI shall do my best to photograph as much as possible.
My internet connection is down at home so am sneaking on the machine at work and will post a few pics once I have some paint on the kit. Have given the interior a first coat in a very light grey (almost ivory) with a wash of black oil to bring out the detail. Will be holding off the rest of the interior until I can take a peek inside the one at Tilbury.
Foxy feel free to post your pics - looking forward to it - almost a mini Group build.

Foxy, I have a few photos in a book called Australian Military Equipment Profiles; Field Artillery 1939-1945. The different types of F.A.T. were known as Tractor, Artillery(Aust) No.8 (or 9). The number 8 was an all steel body with external ready lockers for the ammo & no spare tyre as they had run flats. The no.9 had a similar body but with a step in the roof above the crew, no external lockers & a spare tyre was carried in side the body. Hope this helps Howard
