Ah we have movement, three bids with four days to go, however, It's already gone past what I would be prepared to pay for it. I'm not a collector and whatever kit you build from this series apart from the 'Spitfire' version, will all look the same when they're painted, unless of course you elect to use the decals and painting suggestions supplied with the kit. I've had a look in the stash and I actually have two Transit's in one box, the 'Paris / Dakar' version and the original Ford promo version. Will I treasure them? ... nah, they're boxes of plastic bits the same as several thousand other boxes of plastic bits until I take them out and build something with them.

With the £11 postage, makes it pretty expensive for a kit (I bet he doesn't charge less if the winner is in Ireland ) The thing I never understand with ebay, if you bid before the last minute, you just give your hand away. Someone can then just bid a fraction more, knowing you have probably already reached your limit . I always set myself a limit and use a sniping programme to bid for me at the last second. If I win, great, if not, there will always be another one ;D

Moi? What I would really, really like is for Revell or Italeri to re-release the transit! Given that they always seem to fetch serious money (compared to their original asking price) there must be a demand at some level? I'm sure the Revell & Italeri marketeers must watch the likes of ebay and the forums. It's pity more 'white vans' haven't been produced really. Rich

Are ESCI part of revell or Italeri? It would make a nice addition, you still see the odd MK2 about so it could be built as new or weathered ;D. I presume like lesser trucks, vans just aren't glamourous enough for the kit makers

Hi Voyager Many ESCI kits have been released under the Revell and Italeri banners and there is also a tie between Italeri and Revell. I'm not convinced that ESCI still exists in it's own right? (as a total asside, it's pronounced ESHI. I got that from one of their trade brochures in the early 80's).
I'm sure there are people around here who know the relationships far better than I do. Revell also release the Protar brand in it's boxing so whether there was a buy out or an agreement there I'm not sure.

Thanks Rich, I knew Revell reboxed Italeri trucks but didn't know they had released old ESCI kits. Wonder if they would do some of the 1/32nd scale trucks ;D

It would be nice to see the Transit re-released, there's a few old Esci kits which have made it back into the market.

Never mind the transit I would like a VW lt35 xlwb high roof in 1/24 Keith Keith, grab a pencil and a piece of paper and take this down ... Dear Revell, Italeri, Trumpeter and whoever else it may concern ... Get the picture? However, in order to make a return on any investment, a model company has to sell a specific number of kits. I don't know how many Transit kits were sold but they were offered in various guises over the years, even Ford sold a specially boxed kit via their dealerships. I would have thought that the Lt35 would be a reasonable kit to offer, as would the Mercedes Sprinter, Peugeot Boxer, Vauxhall Movano and all the modern derivatives as some of the van bodies are used by several marques' and re-badged.
