hi
I will be there manning the Yorkshire air ambulance stand and assisting with the rest of the team from IPMS Wakefield, hopefully our request to cancel the snow has been processed, memories of last years nighmare trip across west yorkshire still fresh in mind. Hope to pick up some inspration and motivation to restart stalled projects, still have the kubelwagen bought for my birthday 4 years ago to unwrap...............

'Beyond the Box' will be there ... looks like the snow will fail to appear, but it seems we may need a boat if the rain persists.

snow has made an appearance, but herr rain is now on the scene and melting the snow, boats not quite required but rather soggy in places, just getting ready to set off to erect tables with the rest of the IPMS Wakefield home boys

Excellent day at Huddersfield, just like to say well done to everyone concerned, I do have a couple of observations though which I hope are taken as constructive.
I think you've outgrown the venue, I can remember when this was a two day show taking up half of the hall, then it went to a one day show using all of the hall. I noticed today that the walkways were very slim and and there were a couple of places where a bottleneck was created with visitors viewing the models conflicted with visitors wishing to look at a traders stall or navigate past the displays. I also watched in horror where some idiot carrying a backpack almost wiped a display out attempting to navigate through a walkway. The space behind the stalls seems to have diminished, minimum space for anyone wishing to sit at a display.
Parking was also at a premium, never seen it as bad as that with all the provided parking taken up very early as well as the on street parking. I know it's hard to find a venue which serves the show and is suitable for visitors, but it may have to be considered in the near future.

excellent points and well noted, show was very busy, queuing up steps on to balcony was a first, I did hear the center staff were getting twitchy re number of visitors in the place, problem with larger venues is availability and cost, however we do keep looking for alternatives, I was talking to the center staff re proposed new center , it seems to have gone off the boil.... ?

just had the word from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance folks, they raised nearly £180 , many thanks to all who contributed especially Ian Sadler for his generous donation of cash and 3 of his ex radio control tanks to be used to raise further funds, top bloke

I don't know if any of you knew, but it was Neil Robinson's birthday today ... ... snapped at the Huddersfield show late this afternoon, apparently in tune with his female side, actually he was goaded on a tad by John Adams of Aeroclub ... hmmm? Happy Birthday Neil!
