Hi guys. Just a couple of photos of my latest truck build. It is based on this one that is operated by A E Ebner www.lkw-infos.eu/speditionen/images/e/ebner/teil-01/Ebner%20Teil%201/slides/DAF-XF-105410-Ebner-Holz-260808-01.htmlThese are what I will be using I have decided that this is going to be the most detailed truck that I have ever done, so it will take a while to complete. Various bits have been ordered from KFS but as some of it is still on back order, I thought that I would start with the interior. I have bought a resin interior kit from A&N which provides new seats, bunks, door panels and rear/side panels. I am trying to copy the interior colours from a photo that I found on the net, but if anyone has any photos of the real thing that they could post up, I would be grateful. Thanks guys Neil

Just a couple of quick photos so that you can see my progress so far. The resin bits from KFS are very good and fit together quite well, although I will probably make a new Adblue tank as the one supplied is smaller than the one on the subject truck. I have also cut the fuel tank off the chassis, filled and sanded it down ready to be refitted with the correct amount of tank straps. More soon (Hopefully!!)

Looking very nice. Do you get the decals for the artwork in these kits? Never done a truck before.

Paddy
All the decals that you see on the box are supplied with the kit. As I am building a replica of an actual truck I won't be using them.
If you are thinking of doing a truck, I would suggest starting with a simple straightforward build as the resin extras can soon push the price up. You could always check out the Truck Model World forum or the 24th Scale Model Truck forum. Lots of truck builds and plenty of good guys there with good advice.

Graham, if you're looking for a simple build for a modern(ish) truck, the Iveco Turbostar is a good kit, for an earlier period, either the Italeri / Revell Opel Blitz or the Emhar Bedford, all in 1/24.

Thanks guys. Used to be so happy just building tanks, the IPMS has certainly opened my eyes to some great modelling and diversity of subjects.

Ok guys, this one has sat untouched in the cupboard for a few months, so I thought that I had better make an effort to get it finished for Gaydon next year! When I fetched it out, the chassis was shaped like a banana, so I tried a little gentle pressure to straighten it. It snapped!! So after repairing it and strengthening it, I had my first attempt at plumbing. I'm quite pleased with the results. See what you guys think. I have also been doing a little with the interior. I have just started on the trailer and shall be having a go at plumbing on that too. More soon (I hope!!)

Coming on nicely. The plumbing should look spot on once painted.

Thanks Wolfie. I'm attempting to put into practice the plumbing tips you gave me at Gaydon. It was a bit daunting to begin with as I have no idea what goes on in a truck chassis, but I'm getting there.

A quick update on my recent progress. The trailer has been started and some KFS resin disc brakes added. I have also had a go at plumbing it as well although it may not be 100% correct!! I used box section Evergreen to hold the wires/pipes in place but in hindsight maybe that wasn't such a good idea as it doesn't look right. Never mind, it won't be noticeable when it's finished........I hope!! Both the chassis have been painted, although the truck needs some masking off to do the black on the rear wings and the battery box/filters etc. Have a look and see what you think. More soon!

Hi Neil
Love the plumbing work on that chassis. It works a treat. Makes it look very doable so must make in roads into my DROPS after Saturday. Are the white metal pumps, junction boxes and valves from KFS or home made?
Another cracking build

Thanks Nige. The plumbing is quite easy once you pluck up the courage to start it!! I have used the white metal valve set from KFS and the internal cores from some CAT5 data cable for the pipework. I can see me doing it on all my trucks from now on!!!
