C'mon guys! Someone out there must have seen these and looked in the box. Mid wants me to build the "Aurora" as she was on it at St.Petersberg last summer, and the "Potemkin"'s for me. C'mon guys....spill the info

As no one seems to know anything about these kits/ships, I suppose when I build it I'll write an article for the Mag. If it gets published....guess what? Some smart Alec will write up telling me everything I SHOULD have known before, during, and after construction!! We'll see ;D

Ayup Terry, what's it like having a section of the forum for yourself? ... I've got a similar space over on the Armour section, postings seem to have dropped off dramatically of late. Nick.

Cheeky s*d I inhabit the Armour forum from time to time, my excuse for last week was 'cos I wos on holiday in Yorkshire where they have no internet but very good pubs that sell Black Sheep Ale... ;D ;D ;D Terry - keep flying the flag for Ships and Boats, there are a lot of peeps out there who may have what you want, I'll ask Paul Smith (the Carrier SIG man) to ask his mates with the wet bottoms to see if any of them have any info for you. Doing an article for the Mag is a good idea anyway.

You've heard how they get Black Sheep Ale? Well, first they give a sheep something decent like Bass Bitter, then wait a while and put a bucket under the sheep! Then...... Meanwhile, sadly for some of the ship builders, I'm reviving an old interest ie ships. Perhaps because it's the 200th Year Celebrations of Trafalgar? Perhaps I'm still reliving my childhood, but then, don't we all always anyway!

As far as my memory goes, the Aurora was a Lindberg kit or Inpact something like that.
Potemkin was of a similar ilk, though may be wrong . Some-one did a series of old US pre drednoughts and that may be the basis.

Thanks Ian. When I've had a gander at the contents of the relevant boxes I'll know a bit more. I had considered that one reason why the models were rarely seen was because they were ancient and awful, but I'm ancient and awful too so we'll have something in common! ;D

Hey babies, the Potemkin and Aurora have arrived. I've only taken a brief look at the Aurora.....simple, basic, but looks OK. I'll need to have a detailed look and do some research but the very first indications are that'll make me a nice model, which is the name of the game after all. Missed Gateshead show.....bought GARDEN FURNITURE instead. Any why does my PENGUIN Avatar show when I'm NOT logged in, but DOES NOT SHOW when I am?? Are alien forces at work? Is the FORCE with me or not? Has an alien stolen my PENGUIN??

You're right, the PENGUIN has gone. All I have is a Hot Cross Square. The Aurora will be built properly(ha), but the Poemkin "might" just appear as a spaceship. Not yet used to things without wings

Ho hum! It is just so dead around here! Clearly the warm weather has warped everyones plastic! Possibly even more so than Telford does! ;D That said it doesn't help when so many different threads on what is a small section of the forum have been removed! Anyhooo! Seems a small revival is in order, so how a bout a brief review of these kits then on here? I would love to know how they stack up against Tamiya's 1/350th kits! Am considering a collection of Pre WW1 to 1920's battleships, so whould appreciate the input!
