Hi - been very quiet here for a while, so wanted to pass on some comments on this kit. I built one last weekend (over the course of a few hours) with help from my 7-year-old and we took our time about it. I was rather skeptical about the easybuild kits, but pleasantly surprised.
The kit has a pretty decent paint job - well finished except for some of the smaller panels that fit inside the ramp and some of the edges of the two main "plates" are unpainted. The laser cannon on each plate are also not well painted. Should be easy enough to add some paint - we didn't go that far.
Parts are reasonably secure fit without the need for any glue. There are quite a few gaps, between parts such as the side panels. Proper gluing after removing some of the press-fit locating pins would fit the gaps.
If you have kids keen on Star Wars and want to interest them in model building, this (and some of the other easybuild versions of the Star Wars range) would be a nice start and they have a nice toy to play with afterwards. If you want a really good model of the Millenium Falcon, go and buy the FineMoulds version!
regards
anthony
