Ive had this set of two 1/35 Verlinden resin figures since Christmas and I have finally gotten around to finishing them. I decided in the end to just have the one figure and to add a rifel next to him. Enjoy. ;D

Nicely done ;D How do you find resin to work with I've been tempted by some of the subjects, but apprehensive about the unknown aspect of the material

I used to stay away from resin models, probably down to my first exsperiance being a bad one..... The only pain in the butt with resin is if its been poorly casted with lots of (what i call scag!) you know the bits that need cutting/sanding off, and the other is bubbles.... where you get holes in the cast. Appart from that its good. its finding a model that doesnt need a load of work before you eve start it.

Do you need any special adhesives?

I do like the these figures. The set I have is very similar to that, cant remember what it is called as I binned the box, but it is essentially a couple fo German tankers, one kneeling and making a sandwich for his buddy. Unfortunately I cant devote too much time to modelling so it is a slow process, but I have given them a couple of coats of black (Revell Acrylic - very smooth), dry brushed lightly with matt white acrylic to slightly highlight the uniform and I have been experiemnting with paints.
One head has been done in vallejo medium flesh tone, with a thin wash of burnt sienna oil, I then dry brushed the head with vallejo acrylic light skin tone (almost off white) which picks up the highlights beautifully. Very happy with the result.
The other I used, believe it or not Dwarf flesh from Games Workshop. It looks good but he looks as though he has just been posted from the desert - great tan. Same detail with teh wash and highlights. The Vallejo mid flesh looks much better so I shall use that in future.
I shall post some phots when I can and I would be grateful for your feedback.
Paul
