I would say that the weakest part of my modelling technique is figure painting, especially painting skin tone. I have several models which would benefit from the addition of a well painted figure or three. So, would anyone be prepared to produce a walk through with photos on figure painting for the forum, and maybe something for the IPMS (UK) magazine?

Ayup John, I think any figure would do, it's mainly painting technique which requires explaining, especially skin tones. Oils, acrylics or enamels? ... your choice, but I have to admit, I'd like to try my hand at oils.

oils it is, i've got the perfect figure somewhere, its a nemrod 54mm Napoleonic, but i'll have to find it. Mr Hartup will understand that one, as every time he calls he wants to start tidying up.

I can't walk into his workshop without my OCD kicking in. Just could not exist in that place.

I've got a 120mm Paramedic figure which requires painting, looks like we got ourselves a teach-in build going on then?

I am very interested in figure painting, at the moment the skin is painted in basic skin tone with a brown wash to bring out the details. Have read numerous articles on it but a picture paints a thousand words if you pardon the pun.
