this is just a update to keep everyone informed as to whats new for the competition at SMW 2011.
As i announced at the AGM on Saturday we have had two new sponsored trophies offered for this year.
the first is from Albion Alloys and it is for any model which uses their products. if you not sure then check their web site for their product list. of course being metal accessories then the usual IPMS rules apply for this.
Second new trophy is for the growing interest in 1/48th scale AFV and military vehicles. it will be awarded to any AFV or military vehicle in this scale, this will be interesting to see how this goes as if its well populated in the competition this may require a class of its own, this is something i will be keeping a eye on.
IPMS Poland are again sponsoring two trophies this year. they did this last year but due to magazine deadlines i was unable to have these as separate entry trophies, so with the help of the guys from Poland we came up with a cunning plan last year which seem to work.
this year they have been in contact in good time so i can add them to the expanding list of trophies for Scalemodel World 2011.
Also managed to find new sponsors for a trophy that was not awarded last year due to the fact that the original sponsors seem to have been lost along the way.
Full details of all the trophies and classes can be found on the ScaleModel World web site at
smwshow.com/
If any clarification of classes and trophies are need then contact me direct and i will try to answer any of your question.
