hi all, I am building the KV 1 1939 version . I was not happy with the gun barrel cleaning rods stowage tube . So I set about scratchbuilding one . I cut a length of plastic tube the same dia as the original and then wrapped it in aluminium sheet 3 thou thick , leaving a 1 mm overlap underneath for the super glue . I then punched out two end disks from same sheet and glued it all together . I then super glued the two straps and the end cap from the ally sheet . Lastly I very carefully cut the two wing-nut rods from the original and glued then in place . The scan shows it in place but the fenders and tube are not glued on yet . cheers Ian

Nice one Ian, I trust it's coming to Duxford at the weekend? ... I really must get my KV-1 on the move.
