Well actually the words used were a little more emotive than that ... ... I'm building the Iveco 'Triclore' for a magazine, just about completed spraying the top coat on the cab and its associated bits and this happened. For some reason the paint, Halfords Lada Adriatic Blue has reacted badly with the primer, but just on the lower bumper section. Ah well, don't panic (much), it has to be finished and the article done by July 14th. The bumper was given a couple of dunkings in Mr Muscle oven Cleaner and scrubbed this morning. I've spent a couple of hours scraping and sanding this morning and then gave it a good wash and scrub. Just given it a light dusting of primer ... ... it's a little rough around the edges but I'll give the primer a while to gas off then attempt another rubbing down, a wash and a thin top coat and hopefully there won't be a reaction.

I think I've saved it? ... ... leave it to bake in the sun for a while, probably a very gentle wet rubbing down and then a second light dusting of colour and if all is well, a wet coat and put it away for a while.

Nick, I had the same type of problem when I did two Holden Commodore Monaros and it occurred on the front and rear bumpers I had to re-do them as the paint had re-acted to the resin type material used and not the the release agent the maker had used on both cars I had to leave it but because they R in Small show case type boxes the problem doesn't show up too badly.
