Just wondering if anyone has considered setting up an F-16 SIG?
Plenty of operators, plenty of colour schemes and multiple kits and decals to choose from.

Around 4,500 F-16's have so far been built and the aircraft is still in production. New customers are also set to add to the F-16 to their air forces, Iraq is one of these (seriously). There are also a huge number of special colour schemes as well as the operational schemes, so not just a grey jet.

A letter to the Magazine Editor may be in order? ... that way all members get to comment on your idea rather than a few hits on the forum.

Problem is with me working 70-80 hours six days a week, I don't have a great deal of free time.
The whole idea behind this thread is to see how much genuine interest there is if a SIG was to form.
I would be able to build for it and turn up to a few of the shows to display, but won't actually have time to lead the SIG.

That's why I suggested a letter to the magazine, someone may be thinking of the idea and the magazine is sent to ALL members ... only a small proportion of the membership are members of the forum.

I'll mention the idea in my next mag musings, ie after the SMW issue. Certainly sounds the 'Lawn Dart' SIG does have some potential, not unlike the Sabre SIG mentioned on this very Forum some time ago...
And Hunters were done as a one-off in 2002, never to be repeated...
As always, depends on finding a willing and genuinely enthused leader with sufficient time to indulge.
cheers
Phil

Time for a bump on this thread as there is progress on the subject.

Hi all
As of the 8 August I put in a request to start an F-16 Fighting Falcon SIG, we are hoping to have table space at this years SWM 14 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the F-16 in collaboration with the USAF SIG, there is a Facebook page set-up with 11 members at the moment. We welcome all scales but no what-if's or tenous link just pure F-16's.

Id love to join the F-16 Fighting Falcon SIG! I have been toying with the idea of starting a SIG up like this myself so now there is no need .
